WE have had Trixe for two weeks now and she is a delight to own. I don't have to worry or check where my daughter is as Trixie is safe, gentle and kind. She loves to talk and will come to the veranda and nicker until you come to say hello and maybe give her a carrot, defiantly the way to her heart.
We took her to a fun day in Esk there were 20 riders in all.Steph started the day on leadline(not because Trixie was naughty but because she was nervous) and with in 15 mins she felt confident enough to ride alone. They had Bending, Egg and Spoon,Half hitch, Apple bobbing and cant remember the rest. She did really well, here is a pic of her with the first three ribbons.Stephanie won five all up and Junior Champion.
Thank you to Julie and Mark for helping me find a horse to re build her confidence.
All the best always
Kathy

I've had the pleasure of sending my 4yo QHxSH Palamino gelding that was bucking on me to Tuilodge for training.
All I can say is that Julie and Mark are fantastic, they figured out what was causing my horse to behave in this way and took the time he needed to address the issue.
What I found with working with Julie and Mark is that they are not in the horse business for the money but for their passion and love of horses and they want to share that love with the rest of the world, to teach people about these beautiful creatures. For they don't sell their horses or your horses to any homes only the best of homes.
I would recommend to anyone, that would like their horse trained or retrained, sold or prepared for a show send it to Tui Lodge. Julie and Mark are professionals and you can trust that your beloved horse is in the right hands.
Many Thanks and Love Jemma

Hi Julie, just wanted to give you an update on Bertie :) We have just had a fantastic weekend at a natural horsemanship clinic. The focus of the clinic was safety on the trail. So we did lots of exercises to prepare the horses (and ourselves) for things that can spook or worry a horse on the trail. Bertie was one of the best horses there in terms of acceptance of different things (and we've only had 2 natural horsemanship lessons, some of these horses had been exposed to these things much longer). I was able to get him to walk over a tarp and walk over the tarp just one step at a time, and put the tarp over his head, get him past a waving flag, through a hanging trap (a doorframe with plastic hanging down) and lots of other things. He really enjoyed all the different stimulus I think as he gets bored very quickly! We ended today by going on a trail ride, up and down hills and through a few creek crossings and he was brilliant. It was our first trail ride together as I have been too scared to go before. We are having a dressage lesson on Tuesday with our new instructor which I am excited about. He is starting to respect me a lot more now and we are building a partnership together which I am so pleased about. Thankyou for giving me the opportunity to own Bertie :) Courtney.

We’ve been the proud owners of Doug since August 2008. We wanted the perfect all rounder & step up for Chloe – The needle in a haystack horse!
Julie & Mark were fantastic finding the perfect match at a realistic price & the advice along the way was a great help.
Chloe and Doug are now an unbeatable team whether it’s a local gymkhana or the show ring, always placing.
He’s the most lovable goof, he will step up or down show pony or yang, always the perfect gentleman.
We trust him 100%, plus the added bonus he has polished Chloe off as a rider, taught her a thing or two, to get the best out of him.
Once again thanks for everything Julie & Mark, if someone asks or is looking, we mention you. We love Dougie to bits. We would defantly buy another Tui Lodge Horse or Pony
Regards
Kaylie and Chloe Gordon

Hey Julie and Mark,
We have had Rj for about a month now, Rj is a real pleasure to own. My parents don't have to worry about me going on a trail ride by myself as im with Rj. Rj is the nicest, gentle and sweetest horse we own.
Rj and i have just got home from 10 days at the beach. We had so much fun running up and down on the sand. Sometimes i would just take Rj to the beach for a role in the sand, he loved it. The swimming was the best part Rj was a bit jumpy at the start but after the first day it was a delight to get him in the water.
We have started to do some jumping but more of just me trying to get the right leads and diagonals. My whole family loves Rj (i think that he is a bit spoilt here).
Thankyou so much for Rj. Julie and Mark you are the best.
Yours sincerely, Shiana and Karl Marr.

When buying a horse over the phone in another state sight unseen and especially when its for a child, you rely totally on the sellers honesty and integrity and that they value your childs safety as much as you do. Its not easy to put your trust in someone you've never met before, when its your most precious gift in life your child which is going to be riding the horse you want and hope that everything you have been told is true. Fortunately that is exactly what Julie and Mark have been with us in our recent purchase of Ahana. I have been breeding and showing Pinto horses now for around 30 years and this is the first time that when I have purchased a horse that it was everything that the seller said it was. All I can say is sincere thanks, Ahana is now going to be a valuable part of the Moonwind Park Pinto show team not to mention my daughters horse. She is everything Julie said she was and more. I first saw my new horse Thomas in some pictures of him advertised on the Tui Lodge website
I contacted Julie and told her that I was a nervous rider and was looking for a confidence booster. In response, Julie kindly put together a video and posted it on You Tube. In this video, she rode Thomas bare back and trotted and cantered on the buckle with her arms stretched out to the sides and flapping her hat around. Thomas never battered an eyelid and I could tell from this he really was a sensible boy. Even so, to buy a horse sight unseen is just unheard of for me, and I knew I was taking a big risk.
In investigating how I might transport him interstate to my property, I spoke to two different trucking companies. It turned out that both knew of Julie and spoke very highly of her, both as a skilled horsewoman and as an honest person to deal with. Based on all of these things, I decided to go ahead and purchase Thomas. Thomas arrived a week ago, early April 2009. From the day he walked off the truck, Thomas has been everything Julie said he would be right down to the neighing loudly at every meal time. After letting him settle for two days, I observed he was very happy in himself, behaving like he had lived here all his life. I then had my first ride and Thomas did every thing I asked and was every bit the gentleman Julie had promised. This was a major relief for me as I had lost a lot of confidence over the years and to have a horse I can trust again is priceless.
I am deeply grateful that from the very first phone conversation that I had with Julie, she was totally honest with me. If you are looking for a horse with no hidden surprises, I highly recommend talking to Julie at Tui lodge. I can not Thank her enough for my wonderful Horse Thomas. Jeannie and Thomas.

Hi Julie and Mark,
I wanted to let you know how much I love Kaylee. She is the best pony I could have bought. She is gentle and sweet and so pretty too. At pony club everybody says how beautiful she is and she is so fun to ride. At first I was on leadline because I was really nervous but now I play all the games and riding is my passion in life. I even wrote this poem about Kaylee.
I LOVE MY LITTLE PONY,AND SHE LOVES IT WHEN I TAKE HER FOR A RIDE
WE GO UP OVER THE MOUNTAIN,AND THEN BACK DOWN THE OTHER SIDE
WE TROT FOR A WHILE THEN WE CANTER WITH A SMILE
WE STOP FOR A REST, I THINK MY PONY IS THE BEST!

Testimonial Dear Julie, It is with absolute pleasure and confidence that we provide a testimonial for Tui Lodge. A month ago, we purchased ‘Suzy’ as a first horse for our 11 year old daughter, Madison. I had spent many months scouring advertisements and looking at many, many horses in the lead up to Madison’s 11th birthday on the 29th of May this year. I wanted to give her the dream come true – a horse for her birthday. The phrase “It’s a zoo out there!” springs to mind. I well and truly learnt my lesson about the ‘under-world’ of horse dealing and was at the point where I thought we would never find a suitable horse at a price we could afford. One horse we looked at was supposed to be ‘good for beginners or adult to do light riding’. My uncle telephoned me as I drove out to see it, “Don’t bother coming, it’s lame, it’s got no teeth, it’s near dead.” (He knew I would have felt sorry for it and taken it home anyway!) I was frustrated, confused, flabbergasted and scared to say the least. Then, I found Suzy’s advertisement. I emailed Julie. She responded promptly, was warm and welcoming, and encouraged me to phone her so we could talk and discuss whether Suzy was the right horse for Madison. Julie was professional, caring and honest. I immediately felt at ease. As the mother of a young beginning rider, being able to talk openly with Julie without feeling pushed into a sale was important. Julie was concerned about the match between horse and rider, and also what future lay in store for Suzy. I was impressed with her professionalism, honesty and commitment to do what was right. When it came to the ‘point-of-sale’, Julie left her show preparations and gave Madison a half-hour lesson in the dark – no sales pitch here. A month down the track and Suzy has become a very special part of our family – we couldn’t imagine life without her. She is an angel with a heart of gold. She will run flat out, from the bottom corner of the paddock (where she goes during the day to be close to the pony in the next paddock because she loves friends), all the way up the hill to the stable just to see Madison when she gets home from school! She loves all the cuddles and petting from my other two daughters (okay, and my husband and I!), she will lower her head so they can reach for a cuddle and is more than happy to provide lead-pony rides to anyone who wants one. She actually has a sleep while the girls fuss over her! Madison is learning very quickly and they already look like a great team. Suzy is beautifully responsive and has just the right balance of ‘go’ to keep Madison on her toes but to maintain her confidence all the same. We are looking forward to taking Suzy to Glenelg Equestrian Centre in Woombye shortly, where Madison will ride her in her group lessons. At the moment, Madison is still learning on the schooling ponies there but her instructor can see the rapid progression because of her riding Suzy at home and says she is not far off being ready to bring her along. I’ll be sure to update you when Suzy attends Thank you, Julie. Thanks for building my confidence, being trustworthy and honest, coming out to meet us, and giving Madison a lesson in the dark, but most of all thanks for your very important part in giving my daughter her dream. Suzy is our horse-in-a-million. Oh, and did I mention I later realised that Suzy was actually advertised on Madison’s birthday? Some things are just meant to be. It is with confidence I recommend Tui Lodge to any prospective buyer. Julie is the consummate horsewoman and you can trust what she has to say about the horse; peace of mind in the horse-buying jungle. Warm regards, Jacqui and Stephen Layfield

I could bore you with my long-winded and sometimes painful story about how I purchased a pony for my daughter before contacting Julie and how that pony turned out to be very unsuitable and how after meeting Julie and using her service, managed to sell this unsuitable pony on as a companion pony and buy a very sutiable, very fantastic pony for my daughter. But I won't. The point of writing this testimonial is to convey to you the terrific service that Julie offers to those of us who wish to purchase or sell a horse or pony. My experience with Julie was a very positive one. She is an honest, tell it like it is, no-bull kind of person which is exactly the type of person you need to be dealing with when buying or selling a horse or pony. Julie provides an objective opinion, something that is much needed in this type of situation and prides herself in matching riders with suitable horses. I would recommend her service to anyone and will be certainly be contacting Julie again when I need to buy or sell a horse. Thankyou to Julie for our wonderful new pony. She is exactly the pony we believed we were buying and we are very happy. Gabrielle and Shakira are becoming great friends and will make a great team. Sincerely, Louise Upton

Thank you so much for selling Cody to me I love him so much, I rode him in sporting on zone 26 camp. Mum may not like the colour but I do! He loves to throw mums chair around the place and take of her hat and throw that but I’m sure we can work on it. We have looked at lots of horses but only 1 palomino. Lots of my friends want to come and ride him and my other horse Puss. He is such a good pony, and is a perfect and happy pony! Not saying Puss is not a happy and perfect pony. I go down after school every day and give him kisses! Love from Ainslee!
I spoke to Julie at length on the telephone before we decided to look at Cody. She listened to what we were after and suggested that Cody could be the horse we were after. We found the elusive second competition horse for our 9 yr old daughter, in Cody. He has the delicate balance of temperament, age, education and presence that we required. Julie said he was quiet and he has been everything she said. Thanks Julie Dezlee and Scott

Hi Julie and Mark, Thanks so much for the 2-weeks of groundwork training you did for us. We had out first outing on the weeked at the Brookfield Show... Archie (Garnet Renegade) was really well behaved and nobody could believe that he's only a 2-yr old. He had a minor freakout when we first entered the showgrounds (I blame the miniature horses!) but after some circling and a bit of backing-up he settled completely. It looks impressive to have won Champion Connemara but I have to confess that we were the only Connie to make an appearance! A great shame for such a lovely breed - attendance seemed to be low across the board in the breed classes. We really only went along for the experience so I was almost embarrassed to bring home a purple sash with such a fat and woolly pony ;) The judge said to me "He should make a lovely riding horse, but you'll have to lose that gut". Hilarious. I have to give a plug to my talented fried Felicity Boevink who made my hat for me :) I've never owned a posh hat before so I now have to ensure that all my future showing outfits match my fabulous hat! It was such a fun day, think I've definitely caught the bug now :) kind regards, Diana Cassidy

JOEL and JASPA's Testimonial
Julie I write this letter in appreciation to you and and the wonderful job you do in pairing up horses to there new owners. It was a tuff day the day I decided to sell Joel's Q/Horse as he wanted to move onto something with a bit more education and show experience... I thought this was going to be a long drawn out process until I was sent a link from a friend about Jaspa... I remember calling you and bringing Joel out to meet you and Jaspa, Joel and Jaspa clicked straight off, we decided to buy him after a long discussion on the way home.. Julie since Jaspa has joined our family Joel and him have cleaned up at many a P/ C Gymkhana... so much so i have had to go out and buy a new ribbon holder to add to his old one.. Jaspa also took Joel to win the Junior Show jumping trophy this year at nerang pony club.. Jaspa is forever kissing and licking Joels head you can just see the love they have for each other... I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for such a wonderful gentle loving horse he is a much loved part of our family and wouldn't trade him for all the tea in china!!!!!! You do such a wonderful job in on selling the horses you have to the right owners, keep up the good work. I will certainly send on your details to anyone looking for a new mount.. Kindest Regards Chris and Joel
